About the role

As someone specializing in Tableau Administration, you will be at the heart of how data comes to life for our business stakeholders. In this role, you will own and optimize our Tableau environment, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and high-performing for users across the organization. You will collaborate closely with analysts, developers, and business teams to enable self-service analytics, streamline governance, and maintain a robust BI ecosystem.
With your 2–5 years of experience, you will guide best practices, troubleshoot complex issues, and help shape the roadmap for our visualization and reporting platforms. Key Responsibilities:

Manage Tableau Server/Cloud environments – Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Tableau Server/Cloud, including nodes, services, and background processes.
Ensure performance and availability – Monitor server health, optimize performance, manage capacity, and ensure high availability and reliability of the Tableau platform.
Security and governance – Configure authentication and authorization, manage users, groups, and permissions, and enforce governance standards for content and data access.
Content management – Oversee workbooks, data sources, projects, and schedules; implement folder structures and naming conventions; manage lifecycle of dashboards and reports.
Data source and extract management – Configure and manage data connections, extracts, refresh schedules, and troubleshoot related failures.
Troubleshooting and support – Provide L2/L3 support for Tableau-related issues, analyze logs, resolve performance bottlenecks, and coordinate with vendors when needed.
Backup, recovery, and upgrades – Implement backup and restore strategies, plan and execute upgrades and patches with minimal downtime.
Best practices and standards – Define and promote Tableau development and usage standards, including performance optimization, security, and content organization.
Collaboration with stakeholders – Partner with BI developers, data engineers, and business users to understand requirements and ensure the platform meets evolving needs.
Documentation and training – Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and provide guidance or knowledge-sharing sessions for users and development teams.

Tableau Admin

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
    Experience: 2–5 years of overall IT experience with significant hands-on experience in Tableau Administration in production environments.
    Core expertise:
    Strong proficiency in installing, configuring, and administering Tableau Server/Cloud.
    Proven experience managing users, groups, permissions, and security policies in Tableau.
    Solid understanding of Tableau extracts, data sources, and scheduling refreshes.
    Experience monitoring and tuning Tableau Server performance and resource utilization.
    Ability to troubleshoot Tableau platform issues using logs and admin views.

Education: Bachelor of Engineering
