
GIS Testing/Validation Lead

In this role, you will lead testing and validation efforts that ensure spatial data, map services, and GIS workflows perform consistently across environments and releases. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, product, and data teams to translate requirements into robust test strategies, uncover issues early, and drive measurable quality outcomes. -Develop, update and maintain accurate geospatial datasets and maps
-Perform spatial analysis to support business and project requirements
-Ensure data quality, consistency and compliance with defined GIS standards
-Collaborate with business, engineering and project teams to understand GIS needs
-Adhere to project timelines, SLAs and documentation standards
-Participate in reviews, audits and continuous improvement initiatives
-Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
-High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
-Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
-Adaptability to changing requirements and priorities
-Ownership, accountability and proactive attitude
-Willingness to learn new GIS technologies and best practices
-Ability to clearly explain GIS concepts and analysis to non-technical stakeholders
-Effective written communication for reports, documentation and process guides

-Confident in participating in meetings, discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions
-Ability to raise risks, issues and dependencies in a timely and professional manner
-Proficiency in GIS tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Smallworld or equivalent platforms
-Strong understanding of spatial data models, projections, coordinate systems, and geodatabases
-Experience with spatial analysis, geoprocessing, and map creation
-Knowledge of SQL and working with spatial databases (PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, SQL Server)
-Ability to work with multiple data formats (shapefiles, raster, CAD, GPS data, GeoJSON)
Good to have skills:

Education: Bachelor of Engineering
