
Informatica + Big Data + Hive + Hadoop + UNIX Production Support
About the role
Lead and own end-to-end production support for Informatica and Big Data platforms
Monitor and manage batch jobs, workflows, Hive queries, Hadoop jobs, and UNIX scripts
Handle L3 support, including complex incident resolution, escalations, and business-critical failures
Drive incident management, problem management, and service delivery aligned with SLA/KPI targets
Perform detailed and structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive solutions
Ensure stability and performance of ETL pipelines and Big Data workloads
Lead major incident handling, bridge calls, and stakeholder communication during outages
Coordinate with application, infrastructure, database, and business teams for issue resolution
Oversee release management, deployment validation, and production readiness activities
Drive performance tuning across Informatica workflows, Hive queries, and Hadoop jobs
Implement automation, monitoring improvements, and process optimizations
Ensure compliance with ITIL processes, audit requirements, and governance standards
Maintain and review support documentation, SOPs, and knowledge repositories
Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance
Required Technical Skills:
Strong hands-on experience in Informatica (Power Center or similar ETL tools)
Strong experience in Big Data technologies (Hive, Hadoop ecosystem)
Deep expertise in UNIX/Linux and shell scripting
Extensive experience in production support / data platform support environments
Expertise in troubleshooting ETL failures, data pipeline issues, Hive/Hadoop job failures
Strong knowledge of batch processing, job scheduling, and dependency management
Strong SQL/HiveQL skills for data analysis and issue resolution
Experience with incident management tools (Service Now, Remedy, JIRA, etc.)
Strong understanding of SLA management, escalation handling, and support reporting
Experience in performance tuning and optimization in Big Data environments
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred Skills:
Experience in enterprise-scale data warehousing environments
Familiarity with scheduling tools like Control-M, Autosys, or similar
Exposure to cloud-based data platforms
Experience in support automation and monitoring dashboards
Knowledge of data governance and compliance practices
Proven experience in team mentoring and support management

Desired Candidate Profile:
9–15 years of relevant IT experience
Strong experience in Informatica + Big Data + Hive + Hadoop + UNIX production support
Proven expertise in handling critical incidents, escalations, and L3 support environments
Strong troubleshooting skills across ETL, Big Data, and UNIX layers
Experience working in 24/7 support environments (if required)
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to lead support teams and handle high-pressure situations
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline
