
Design Engineer
About the role
Seeking a skilled professional with experience in product design of automotive Exterior and interior plastics parts for global automotive OEMs. The role involves cross-functional collaboration to drive complete product development cycle (RFQ to TKO) stages, support on regulation checks and drawing package creation.
Design and develop plastics trims for global passenger cars.

Perimeters: Bumper, Tailgate, Lighting, Body Claddings, interior trims, I/P, floor console

Interact with client engineers, understand the inputs and execute the designs independently with little supervision.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to manage deliverables, participate in design reviews and meetings and achieve program requirements.

Lead a team of 2-3 members for a perimeter/ program.

Good communication skills to discuss with onsite engineers and clients to understand the requirements.
B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering with 3–9 years in plastics product design for automotive cars

PD tools: CATIA V5, NX, Teamcenter, Windchill

Strong knowledge of product development cycle (NPD), plastics materials and manufacturing processes.

Good knowledge of plastics design guidelines and tooling fundamentals.

knowledge of automotive safety standards like ECE & FMVSS desirable.

Skills to perform regulatory checks on style surfaces for passenger & pedestrian safety (ECE-26).

Skills on assembly management and OEM drawing creation will be added advantage

Working knowledge with European or American clients with cross cultural sensitivity.

Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and listening.
Education: Bachelor of Engineering,Bachelor of Mechanical Engg,Bachelor Of Technology
