
AIX/Linux Admin
About the role
An AIX/Linux admin is responsible for managing and maintaining AIX/Linux systems
An AIX/Linux administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of systems running AIX OS.
Ensuring the high availability of AIX/Linux operating system.
Administer and support AIX and Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, SUSE).
Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of OS and related tools.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal uptime.
Manage user access, file systems, and security policies.
Handle LVM, file system management, and disk administration.
Support backup and recovery operations.
Work on server hardening and vulnerability remediation.
Coordinate with application teams for deployments and issue resolution.
Maintain documentation and follow ITIL-based processes (incident/change management).
Strong experience in AIX and Linux system administration.
Knowledge of shell scripting (KSH/Bash).
Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS).
Experience with virtualization (LPARs, VIOS for AIX).
Familiarity with monitoring tools and system logs analysis.
Exposure to backup tools and disaster recovery practices.
Basic understanding of security compliance and patch management.
