Senior Territory Account Manager – Southern Iberia

Field‑based role covering Seville, Málaga, Granada, and the wider Southern Iberia region
Regular travel across the territory is required

As Senior Territory Account Manager here at Illumina in Southern Iberia, you will drive growth and strengthen Illumina’s presence across leading biotechnology, pharmaceutical, academic, and government research organisations. With a focus on key hubs such as Seville, Málaga, and Granada, you will work closely with scientific stakeholders to understand their research priorities, deliver strategic solutions, and promote Illumina technologies that accelerate discovery. Operating autonomously across the territory, you will cultivate trusted relationships with decision makers, influence technology adoption, and contribute to commercial opportunities aligned with our mission to improve human health by unlocking the power of the genome. Why You

You bring strong experience in scientific sales, account management, or related commercial roles, ideally within the life sciences, biotech, or instrumentation sectors. You are energised by solving customers’ scientific challenges and can navigate complex research environments, from academic labs to pharmaceutical R&D teams. Your communication style adapts naturally to different audiences, enabling you to build rapport, influence decisions, and drive the adoption of advanced technologies.

You are comfortable working independently across a broad territory and use structured judgment to prioritise opportunities, balancing strategic planning with hands‑on customer engagement. A bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline is typically required; an MSc, PhD, or equivalent experience would also support success in this role. Fluency in Spanish and strong English proficiency are essential.

Key Responsibilities Include

Strategic Territory & Account Leadership

  • Identify, profile, and develop key accounts across Southern Iberia to drive regional growth
  • Build and nurture long‑term relationships with senior stakeholders and decision makers
  • Create and execute account strategies that maximise product adoption and revenue

Customer Engagement & Solutions Delivery

  • Provide scientific and product expertise across Illumina’s full portfolio
  • Collaborate with research organisations to understand their challenges and recommend tailored solutions
  • Influence customer acceptance of Illumina technologies through strong scientific and product knowledge

Commercial Execution & Negotiation

  • Lead sales activities across the assigned geographic territory
  • Participate in pricing discussions to align with business goals
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure a high‑quality customer experience

Market Insights & Business Intelligence

  • Monitor competitors, market trends, and emerging commercial opportunities
  • Provide insights to marketing, product, and regional leadership teams to support commercial strategy
  • Apply analytical skills to assess complex situations and adapt your approach effectively

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Maintain strong internal networks across commercial, technical, and service functions
  • Represent Illumina professionally at customer visits, events, and meetings
  • Share field insights with senior partners and contribute to broader regional initiatives
