ITW Specialty Films is a division of Illinois Tool Works Inc and designs, manufactures and markets specialized Holographic films for the consumer packaging, trading cards and lottery market under the Shine Mark brand.

POSITION SUMMARY

Maintenance Technician I operates independently and collaborates with engineering and maintenance personnel to perform preventive and routine maintenance. This role is responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues, repairing production and facility equipment failures, and maintaining optimal equipment performance. All work is completed in alignment with company safety policies, financial objectives, and operational standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESSafety

  • Support the implementation of safety protocols and compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Contribute to facility safety initiatives and supports continuous improvement programs through active participation in audits, corrective actions, and process‑optimization activities.
  • Maintain neat and orderly work areas utilizing 5S standards to ensure compliance.

Preventative Maintenance

  • Perform detailed machinery inspections and document items needing to be addressed.
  • Execute and document preventative maintenance through PM software.
  • Procures replacement and repair components to support timely equipment rebuilds and corrective maintenance activities
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining spare parts requirements to effectively limit machinery downtime.

Troubleshooting and Repair

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform repairs and replace faulty components on plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, coating equipment, slitters, compressed air systems, pumps and facilities equipment/infrastructure.
  • Provide general electrical repair/maintenance and installation of electronic controls/equipment.
  • Perform electrical shutdown/startup of low to medium voltage equipment.
  • Document repair to machinery establishing a history and timeline of changes.
  • Provide support in writing standard operating procedures.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education in, electronics or industrial mechanics preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a maintenance role in a manufacturing environment working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics troubleshooting and repair. Experience in the converting or printing industries a plus.
  • Ability to utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the installation, repair, modification and maintenance of equipment
  • Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts highly preferred
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic shop math skills.

Compensation Information:

$32.00-$35.00 an hour based on experience and skill level at time of offer
