The Plastics Strategic Sourcing Analyst supports ITW’s Strategic Sourcing organization in developing and executing sourcing initiatives that drive cost savings and deliver value across ITW’s enterprise-wide resins spend. This role plays a key part in managing one of ITW’s largest global spend categories and collaborates with cross-functional teams across multiple ITW divisions. The ideal candidate demonstrates solution-oriented thinking, strong analytical skills, project management discipline, and the ability to thrive in a decentralized environment.

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Sourcing Strategy & Execution
-
Support the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, primarily focused on resins.
-
Assist ITW divisions in achieving annual and long-range savings targets.
-
Support multi-sourcing initiatives and efforts to simplify the supply base and reduce supply chain complexity.

Manage ad hoc supply issues by helping divisions understand current scenarios and implementing creative, effective solutions.

Conduct supplier discovery efforts and manage RFx events from initiation through completion, ensuring accuracy, attention to detail, and consistent stakeholder communication.

Evaluate VA/VE opportunities and support strategic sourcing initiatives for innovative and emerging areas within the plastics industry.

Lead through influence, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategies while fostering collaboration in a decentralized culture.

Research, Analysis & Reporting

Provide reporting and presentations related to project status, spend analysis, and market research as needed.

Analyze spend data to identify sourcing opportunities and optimize addressable spend.

Partner with internal stakeholders to improve data availability and accuracy, transforming data into actionable insights.

Conduct market trend analysis and research related to the plastics/resins industry, including market conditions, cost drivers, global supply base dynamics, and key industry terminology.

Develop commodity knowledge and supply base expertise.

Support the management of strategic supplier and market intelligence provider relationships.
Job Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college. Preferably with a focus on Supply Chain, Business, or Chemical Engineering.

Minimally, having completed a relevant internship is required
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, with working knowledge of intermediate functions and formulas.

Willingness to travel to ITW business locations, supplier sites, or industry events as needed (approximately 10–20%).
-
Ability to work 5 days a week onsite in the office at the Glenview, IL corporate campus with flexibility in hours.

ITW's Corporate Sourcing Team is not currently hiring individuals for this position who now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status.
Compensation Information:
The compensation package for the role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $76K - $80k annually.
ITW considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, geographic location, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
In addition to a competitive salary, ITW employees in the U.S. are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package. This package includes medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance programs.
