Job Description: Job Summary

This position is responsible for efficient operation, upkeep, and repair of equipment, facilities, and systems. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and responding to maintenance requests to minimize downtime and ensure a safe working environment.

Primary Key Responsibilities

  • Hold self-accountable to create and maintain a safe working environment
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure equipment.
  • Diagnoses malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs corrective maintenance action.
  • Performs changeovers and adjusting machines to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Maintains maintenance records for individual work in CMMS
  • Ability to plan and install new electrical connections for manufacturing equipment
  • Mechanically capable of diagnosing and repairing manufacturing equipment
  • Modifies electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations under the direction of an Electrical Engineer.
  • Plans, directs, and records periodic electrical testing
  • Troubleshoot electrical control systems via online connection to PLCs and understanding of ladder diagram language to identify inputs and outputs
  • 5S Responsibilities
  • Performance to comply with all company Procedures, Policies, and Work Instructions
  • May perform electrical, mechanical, welding, plumbing and carpentry duties as needed for the facility.
  • Reads and interprets drawings and schematics to locate problem areas and suggests methods for corrective action.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school
  • 2-5 years of related experience
  • Proficient with basic PLC, troubleshooting, and programming
  • Experience with operating a forklift
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Effectively communicate in a professional demeanor when dealing with the public or any level of employees.
  • Ability to safely work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently
  • Ability to work overtime

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee could be exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
