
Group Lead
About the role
Job Description: Summary:
The Group Lead will be responsible for assisting the Production Supervisor with daily production operations, including meeting daily production requirements, assignments, safety, equipment operations, and quality specifications.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assists Production Supervisor with supporting facility goals and operational improvements as needed.
- Assists with planning production schedule and communicating schedule to the department.
- Work with Department Supervisor to determine proper staffing and manage staff to meet production goals.
- Responsible for completing related paperwork, reports, and support functions within the computer management system.
- Responsible for raw material management and maintaining finished goods at MRD inventory targets.
- Responsible for Batching of all base products in the area of responsibility and learning batching across other functional areas.
- Trains employees on machines and department procedures. Able to fill in for all positions within the department.
- Initiating and implementing operations improvement in processes and system.
- Responsible for adherence to all environmental, health, safety, housekeeping, quality, and work standards set for the company, to include ensuring other workers are complying.
- Take responsibility for department to ensure proper hazardous material handling mandatory through initial and annual refresher training.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean, well-organized production, and storage area, including any assigned company property, equipment, or materials.
- Practice respectful interactions with coworkers, vendors and customers.
- Act in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Core Skills/Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Minimum 3+ years operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have working knowledge of production operations.
- Must have ability to gain knowledge and experience on the machines within the department, plus must be mechanically inclined to make adjustments and/or repairs.
- Must be able to meet minimum forklift operating standards.
- Must be detailed oriented and able to produce accurate work.
- Accurately read, analyze, and interpret common information, reports, and other documents required to perform the job duties.
- Able to work a full-time schedule that may include overtime.
- Possess basic math skills to perform essential duties of job.
- Must be dependable, have good attendance, and be punctual.
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of the company and customer personnel.
- Able to adapt to change in the work environment.
- Must be able to perform duties to lead group in a variety of routine duties such as filling and mixing.
