Your role and responsibilities
As a Medical Specialist-Physician: Generalist, you will utilize your physician skills to develop, implement, and administer total health programs and services, ensuring compliance with IBM, IHS, and government regulations. You will create a positive culture focused on prevention and promotion of employee health and wellness initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Develop Total Health Programs: Develop, implement, and administer total health programs and services consistent with IBM, IHS, and government regulations, promoting employee health and wellness initiatives.
- Provide Client Service: Deliver high-quality client service by demonstrating diplomacy, compassion, and professional competency, resolving individual employee questions or issues, and preparing employee communications.
- Oversee Nurse/Physician Staff: Supervise nurse/physician staff, providing guidance and leadership in developing and implementing total health strategies.
- Manage Vendor Relationships: Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to support total health projects and adapt to changing legislation.
- Collaborate with IBM Functions: Team with other IBM functions on matters involving legal compliance, employee relations, and financial aspects related to medical programs.
Required education
Pre-University Qualification - Required technical and professional expertise
- Exposure to Medical Program Development: Experience working with total health programs and services, including development, implementation, and administration, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Client Service Delivery: Exposure to delivering high-quality client service, demonstrating diplomacy, compassion, and professional competency in a medical setting.
- Staff Supervision: Experience working with nurse/physician staff, providing guidance and support in a supervisory capacity.
- Contract Negotiation and Management: Exposure to negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships in a medical context.
- Regulatory Compliance: Experience working with government regulations, IBM, and IHS standards in a medical setting.
- Preferred technical and professional experience
- Global Business Perspective: Exposure to maintaining a global perspective and comprehensive understanding of business unit strategies, demonstrating an ability to adapt to diverse cultural and geographical environments.
- IHS Pillars Knowledge: Experience working with other IHS pillars, showing an understanding of their functions and relevance to total health programs and services.
- Special Project Leadership: Exposure to leading special projects, providing leadership in developing and implementing total health strategies, and overseeing project teams.
