About the role
Introduction
The Future Skills Solution Strategist is a key leadership role within the IBM Consulting Global Learning & Knowledge (L&K) organization within Future Skills portfolio. The Future Skills Solution Strategist's role grows strong relationships with One HR team (Workforce Management, Talent Management, and Talent Acquisition), geo Future Skills team, and global / geo Service Line leaders and their teams to be a credible, trusted, and accountable advisor to develop and implement Future Skills Strategies aligned to the broader IBM Consulting strategies on skills, capacity, and capability build. The Future Skills Solution strategist recommends effectively addressing and closing skill gaps to support business priorities. This role involves recognizing the need for innovative solutions based on business trends and engaging in discussions with senior leaders. The Future Skills Solution Strategist will create a culture of innovation and empower colleagues to thrive within the team, in the geo, and at global stage. The role requires the individual to stay current with industry trends and identify ideas and solutions for IBM based on IBM’s strategy and where the market is going.
Your role and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Develop futuristic skills strategies that align with organizational goals and anticipate future skill requirements. Ensure that learning initiatives support the overall business strategy and contribute to achieving business objectives and outcomes.
Stakeholder Management: Engage with business leaders, as well as other key stakeholders, to understand business strategies and needs and ensure Future Skills and related learning strategies align with business priorities. Lead strategy-focused conversations with complex and critical stakeholders.
Skills Building Strategy: Lead the development and implementation of skills-building strategies in key focus areas across all Service Lines in partnership with Service Lines learning portfolio teams. Ensure these strategies address current and future skill needs and support the growth and development of the workforce across the Service Lines.
Overseeing Learning Solutions: Manage a team of Global Learning Consultants and Platform developers responsible for collecting learning plan requirements and Future Skills technology requirements to develop solutions to drive efficiencies and effectiveness of the program. Oversee the creation and delivery of technical skills training across the service line (practices and offerings).
Global Campaign Execution: Lead delivery of global Future Skills campaigns providing centralised execution of key campaigns including algorithms to generate system recommendations, approval workflows, enrolments in Train Track and Your Learning and manager / employee communications.
Innovative Learning Solutions: Stay abreast of innovative emerging learning technologies and apply them in IBM Consulting. Work with the education development teams hosted in the Studio to create and deploy innovative learning solutions across geographies and centers. Ensure learning solutions are effective, engaging, outcome-focused, and personalized to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Innovative Future Skills Technology Solutions: Stay abreast of innovative emerging technologies, IBM technical landscape and apply them to drive Future Skills program in IBM Consulting. Work with the wider One HR, Corporate HR, WFM tech and reporting teams to create and deploy innovative technical solutions (Train Track, Your Skills) across geographies and centers. Ensure technical solutions are effective, engaging, outcome-focused, and personalized to meet the needs of diverse audiences.
Cross-functional Collaboration/Teamwork: Work with all Service Line Learning Strategists and cross-functional L&K portfolio teams, including the L&K Studio, and wider L&K technology teams to ensure alignment and consistency across various learning initiatives and leverage best practices.
Curriculum Development: Oversee developing and maintaining Future Skills (Re/Cross skill) curriculums aligned with Jon Role and Specialities (JRS) related to organization’s strategic priority and upcoming skill demand on client projects. Ensure these curriculums are personalized/adaptive, comprehensive, relevant, and support the skills need of the new role for practitioners
Team Leadership: Future Skills Solution Strategists is responsible for the overall team performance, providing coaching and development opportunities, and managing administrative tasks related to people management.
Measurement of success: Future Skills Solution Strategists is responsible for showing effectiveness of the Future Skills program through data analysis and insights on program completions, change in JRS, deployment of practitioners after program completions, impact on utilization, employee motivation, and attritions along with other metrics.

Stakeholder Engagement: Strong skills in building & maintaining relationships with senior global & geo leaders. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse groups.
Business Acumen: Demonstrate a strong understanding and track record of the IBM consulting skills goals, objectives, and challenges for capacity and capability build. Support Talent Supply Chain (TSC) agenda for the organization.
Communication: Strong communication skills both at the senior business, One HR, and L&K level and effectively communicating with direct reports.
Learning Solution Design: Expertise in designing and implementing effective learning solutions that address skill gaps and support business objectives.
Technical Proficiency and acumen: Familiarity with Train Track, IBM system of records (WF360), learning management systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, One HR ecosystem, and other technologies used in L&K.
Program Management: Strong program management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure they are delivered with the right quality on time, within scope, and budget as per stakeholders requirement and global applicability.
Leadership and Influence: Ability to lead and influence teams without direct authority. Strong leadership skills to drive the Future Skills agenda and motivate teams to achieve goals.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing data to identify trends, assess technology and learning needs, and evaluate the effectiveness of the Future Skills programs.
Innovative Thinking: Ability to incorporate innovative approaches and technologies into Future Skills solutions to enhance effectiveness and engagement.
Cultural Awareness: Understanding of and sensitivity to cultural differences. Ability to work effectively in a global context and ensure Future Skills solutions are relevant across different geographies
