The Formulary Operations Management Professional 2 provides operational leadership for build, maintenance, submission, and updating of formularies and drug lists. The Formulary Operations Management Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Formulary Operations Management Professional 2 ensures accuracy of formularies and utilization management (UM) criteria in the Centralized Formulary System. Collaborates with healthcare professionals, pharmacists, and other business functions to operationalize formularies. Performs formulary analysis and reporting to ensure optimal operational flow. Develops key performance indicators and plans to improve overall process improvements and efficiency. Creates formulary management process and training documentation. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Less than 5 years of technical experience
  • Strong consultative skills and relationship building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Prior demonstrated experience with process improvement or process design and implementation roles
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Visio, Excel and Access
  • Ability to work on multiple projects
  • Ability to successfully handle change in a fast paced environment
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior management experience
  • Lean, 6 sigma experience and/or certifications
  • Excellent data analysis and experience working with Access, SQL and Excel
  • Previous experience with pharmacy benefits management

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$65,000 - $88,600 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
