Job Summary:

Walt Disney Japan is seeking a diligent, detail-oriented, and motivated Corporate Communications Specialist to support the execution of key communication initiatives. The successful candidate will possess foundational experience in corporate communications, including media relations, internal communications, and corporate messaging.

In this role, you will contribute to media outreach efforts and support the implementation of both external and internal communication activities that articulate and strengthen Disney’s corporate narrative across its diverse business segments.

You will also provide support to the Japan Corporate Communications team in the planning and execution of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives that foster meaningful, positive impact within the local community.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment. Proficiency in both Japanese and English is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and implementation of external and internal communications, ensuring clear, accurate, and brand-aligned messaging. Contribute to integrated strategies that reinforce Disney’s reputation as a leading entertainment company.
  • Draft, edit, and manage approvals for materials including press releases, internal communications, and reports. Produce content that is engaging, accurate, and consistent with Disney’s brand standards.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with media representatives, key opinion leaders(KOLs), influencers, and stakeholders across business units, marketing, HR, partnerships, and corporate functions.
  • Assist with initiatives to deliver timely and motivating communications to Disney Japan employees, fostering engagement and a sense of belonging.
  • Collaborate on the execution and communication of Disney’s CSR programs and initiatives, promoting meaningful impact in the local community.
  • Coordinate and support ongoing storytelling, media relations, and key corporate communication programs.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 3–5 years’ experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field, ideally within Japan. Prior experience at PR agencies or in-house communications teams in Japan preferred.
  • Interest in and understanding of the entertainment, media, and consumer industries in both the U.S. and Japan.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills in Japanese and English. Proven ability to draft compelling, accurate communication materials suited to both local and international audiences.
  • Familiarity with contemporary media and entertainment trends, digital PR, and social media platforms.
  • Experience supporting communications campaigns and events; strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and engage diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to learn and expand responsibilities in a dynamic, international organization.
  • TOEIC score of 850+ (or equivalent English proficiency) strongly preferred.

The Walt Disney Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We strive to be a diverse workforce that is representative of our audiences, and where all can thrive and belong. We are committed to building a team that includes and respects a variety of voices, identities, backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
