Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Validate and verify network design and configurations.

• Provide day-to-day operational support, including troubleshooting and resolving network issues.

• Perform fault analysis and corrective actions in collaboration with HPE-Juniper Support and Engineering teams.

• Review and optimize network device configurations.

• Conduct interoperability and feature testing in lab and production environments.

• Recommend software versions and assist with upgrades.

• Support implementation activities and ensure successful deployment.

• Deliver knowledge transfer sessions and technical workshops to customer staff.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Participate in design and information-gathering workshops to understand current and target network architectures.

• Familiarize with the customer’s organizational structure, processes, and operational procedures.

• Test new features, releases, and fixes in lab environments and validate in live networks.

• Open and manage TAC and Engineering cases through resolution.

• Provide regular written reports on network and equipment status.

• Assist in developing Network and Equipment Operating Procedures.

• Train customer personnel on configuration and operation of HPE-Juniper products.

• Develop secondary skills across the broader Juniper product portfolio.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 10 years of hands-on networking experience in large, international enterprise environments.

• Proven expertise in testing, installation, and operation of networking solutions

• Strong knowledge of IP networking protocols and active network components (CCIE or JNCIP/JNCIE level).

• Proficiency with network management tools and analyzers.

• EU nationality and citizenship required.

• Fluent Italian and English

Technical Skills

• Service provider networking

• IPv4/IPv6 addressing, subnetting, supernetting, and hierarchical routing principles.

• Routing protocols: OSPF, IS-IS, BGP.

• L2/L3 VPN technologies (L2TP, MPLS, etc.).

• QoS/CoS, multicast, and network security best practices.

• Hands-on experience with Juniper Networks equipment; familiarity with Mist is a plus.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Soft Skills & Competencies

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills ( Italian, English fluency required).

• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and departments.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.

Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and customer-focused.

This is a highly technical, customer-facing role within the HPE-Juniper Advanced Services team. The Resident Engineer (RE) will provide configuration, operational and testing support for HPE-Juniper Networking products to a key service provider in Italy.
