An excellent career opportunity is currently available for an R&D Technician II within Honeywell UOP’s R&D Materials Characterization group located in Mc Cook, IL. This position provides a unique opportunity to analyze samples from across R&D, Pilot Plants, and commercial refineries around the world.
The R&D Analytical Technician II role will join our Des Plaines lab team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our research and development efforts, with a specific focus on gas chromatography, wet chemistry, and catalyst testing.
MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

- Experience with laboratory analyses using combustion, physical property testing, or wet chemistry methods.
- Scientific writing and presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols.

- Knowledge of UOP materials and processes and associated analytical methods.
The annual base salary range for this position is $54,500- $68,100. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct laboratory testing following industry guidelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Responsible for running analytical tests and entering results.
- Participate in training on fundamental lab support policies, programs, and practices.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory.
- Prepare test samples for various chemical analyses.
- Communicate with customers to keep them informed and educated.
- Handling of chemicals and other hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals is required.
