As a Mechanical Design Engineer II within Honeywell Thermal Solutions, you will leverage your engineering expertise to design, develop, and improve mechanical components and systems that power advanced thermal technologies. In this position, you will support both sustaining engineering efforts—addressing manufacturing challenges, customer returns, and part changes—and new product development by generating innovative ideas that push the boundaries of thermal solutions. Reporting to the Safety and Controls Engineering Manager, you will collaborate closely with compliance engineers to ensure products meet regulatory standards and develop comprehensive test plans executed in partnership with lab technicians. Your work will directly support the advancement and success of Honeywell’s thermal product portfolio.

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
• Early-career candidates and new graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant internships, co-ops, capstone projects, or hands-on academic experience may be considered in lieu of full-time industry experience
• Foundational understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Experience supporting engineering projects through coursework, internships, co-ops, or professional roles, including exposure to product development or sustaining activities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, learn quickly, and contribute in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment

WE VALUE

• Prior industry experience in mechanical design, product development, sustaining engineering, or manufacturing support
• Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Hands-on experience with CAD tools, prototyping, testing, or design validation activities
• Exposure to regulatory requirements, compliance testing, or industry standards related to thermal or electromechanical products
• Demonstrated curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and passion for innovation and continuous improvement
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to take ownership of technical work from concept through implementation
• Adaptability and willingness to grow technical expertise within a dynamic and evolving engineering environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
