We are looking for an experienced Install Shield Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain installation packages for software applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Install Shield, Windows Installer (MSI), and related technologies. This role requires strong scripting skills, experience in setup development, and knowledge of deployment best practices.

Technical Skills

• Install Shield (Basic MSI, Install Script MSI, Install Script, WIX, MS Build)
• Windows Installer (MSI) technology
• Scripting languages: PowerShell, VBScript, Batch
• Windows Registry, COM, and DLL handling
• Tools: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, Octopus
• Experience with Windows Services, Drivers, C# and .NET application deployments

X Toolset for MSI development:

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science
• Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Installation Development & Deployment

• Design, develop, and maintain Windows Installer (MSI) and Install Shield, WIX based setup packages for software deployment.

• Configure Install Shield projects for different software versions and platforms.

• Develop custom installation scripts using Install Script and MSI technologies.

• Implement silent/unattended installation and custom user interfaces.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Fix installation issues related to software updates, dependencies, and compatibility.
• Debug and troubleshoot MSI/Install Shield-related errors using logs, registry, and system configurations.
• Provide technical support for setup-related issues during development and deployment.

Scripting & Automation:

• Write PowerShell, VBScript, or Batch scripts for automating installation and deployment.
• Integrate Install Shield with CI/CD pipelines for automated software builds and deployments.
• Optimize installation packages for performance and minimal footprint.

Compliance & Best Practices:

• Ensure Windows Installer (MSI) best practices and guidelines are followed.
• Implement code-signing, licensing, and security policies in setup packages.
• Maintain documentation of installation processes, scripts, and configurations.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with developers, QA teams, and system administrators to ensure smooth software deployment.
• Participate in team meetings, provide updates, and suggest improvements in installation strategies.
