Sr Advanced Project Engineer

As a Sr Adv Project Engineer, here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in guiding and managing software and Hardware development projects. You will be accountable for ensuring the successful delivery of projects within budget and scope. Your strong guiding skills, strategic thinking, and ability to work with cross-functional teams will be essential in delivering successful outcomes for Honeywell's multi disciplinary programs. You will report directly to our Sr Eng Pgm Manager and you’ll work out of our Bangalore, India location on a hybrid (4 + days from office and one day remote) work schedule or whichever is latest guidelines from Org.

In this role, you will impact critical software initiatives and drive technical excellence within the organization. You will have the opportunity to shape the direction of software development projects, ensuring that they align with business goals and objectives. By effectively managing the team and resources, you will drive efficiency and productivity, resulting in successful project outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Guide and manage software and HW development projects to ensure timely delivery within budget and scope
• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and define project scope
• Develop and implement software development strategies and best practices
• Come-up with full project schedule, inter team dependencies
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
• Ensure compliance with software development standards and guidelines
• Manage project risks and issues, and implement mitigation plans
• Leads the cross functional program teams to successfully achieve the program & business goals.
• Uses the NPI process to achieve customer deliverables, schedule, cost and related program milestones/ objectives.
• Understand NPI process in-detail, and drive all NPI programs as per NPI Process
• On schedule delivery of New Product meeting NPI phase gates as per specification and On budget.

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development or related roles
• Minimum 4 years of NPI project/Program Management experience and preferably experienced in leading globally distributed cross discipline enterprise software teams
• Strong knowledge of software and HW development methodologies and best practices
• Excellent guiding and communication skills

• Ability to motivate and inspire a set of Project managers and Leads to excel in PM governance
• Good knowledge and experience in basic PM areas like Cost, Time, Risk and Integration Management
• Experienced in Earned Value Management
• Expert in usage of Microsoft project/any other scheduling tools
• Working knowledge of NPI Development Process is preferred
• Ability to set judicious expectations and manage them with key stakeholders
