Honeywell Smart Energy is looking for a Software Build engineering professional. As a member of our software development team, this individual would lead the expansion, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the software manufacturing process for the Connexo Multisense software product. This position will report to our Manager of Software Engineering and work closely with our software developers, testers and support teams.
Background Information:
Connexo Multisense is a multi-tier enterprise back-office application deployed both in cloud-based configurations as well as onsite at our customers (utilities). It is used by utility companies to read and manage networks of electricity, water, and gas meters as well as the communication infrastructure and networks used to communicate to those devices. Connexo Multisense leverages a diverse mix of technologies (Java, Oracle, Sencha). In addition, we use Bamboo/GitHub Actions to orchestrate our continuous build and test process and have limited automation of deployment of the product for overnight execution of automated end to end tests.
The ideal candidate will have successfully managed a continuous software delivery system for similar products and technologies, be ready to take ownership of our software delivery solution, and be excited about making measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and productivity while reducing the need for tedious or repetitive manual processes.
ob Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performing applications using strong Core Java with Apache Felix framework skills.
- UI Skills – Ext JS (Sencha ) must have exposure .
- Should have worked on or clear understanding of Java Multithreading concept, Junit Test cases and Integration Test Cases.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance and maintain system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess project feasibility, and establish project timelines.
- Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle with an emphasis on Agile methodologies.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive improvements and innovation within the team.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Proficiency in CORE Java and Apache Felix framework.

Strong experience in front-end technologies including Ext JS.

Familiarity with messaging systems, especially Kafka.

Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.

Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- 2-5 years of experience in the fields of Core Java coding, software development, release engineering.
