We are seeking a SAP S/4 Data Migration Technical Resource to architect and execute end-to-end data migration strategy across finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and commercial domains. This role will drive migration governance, tool strategy, mock conversion cycles, and production cutover readiness in a complex, multi-entity environment.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring deep expertise in SAP migration tools, data quality frameworks, and structured transformation governance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8–12+ years SAP data migration experience.
  • 2+ full lifecycle SAP implementations (minimum 1 S/4HANA).
  • Proven experience leading migration workstreams.

Required Expertise

  • Deep experience with SAP S/4 Migration Cockpit.
  • Hands-on LSMW expertise.
  • Experience with enterprise ETL/data migration tools (BODS, Syniti, Informatica).
  • Strong SQL and data transformation logic skills.
  • Experience migrating high-volume transactional and master data.
  • Strong reconciliation and financial validation expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace & Defense or highly regulated industry experience.
  • Experience in Central Finance migration scenarios.
  • Experience in carve-outs or enterprise separation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with automation and data validation scripting.
  • Exposure to data governance frameworks and enterprise MDM strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Data Migration Strategy & Best Practices

  • Define and execute enterprise data migration strategy aligned to SAP Activate methodology.
  • Establish migration governance, templates, and quality standards.
  • Drive clean data principles and minimize legacy data carry-forward.
  • Implement structured mock loads, reconciliation cycles, and defect management.
  • Ensure traceability and audit-ready documentation.

Migration Tool Expertise

SAP S/4 Data Migration Cockpit

  • Lead configuration and execution of Migration Cockpit (LTMC / Fiori-based Migration Cockpit).
  • Develop migration objects and mapping rules.
  • Manage staging tables and transformation logic.
  • Validate and reconcile migrated data.

LSMW & Legacy Tools

  • Leverage LSMW for legacy ECC migrations where applicable.
  • Design and manage batch input and direct input programs.
  • Transition legacy migration approaches to S/4-compliant frameworks.

Applicable Data Migration Tools

  • Experience with enterprise-grade migration tools such as:

  • SAP Data Services (BODS)

  • Syniti (Back Office Associates)

  • Informatica

  • SAP SLT (for Central Finance scenarios)

  • Build transformation rules and ETL workflows.

  • Partner with enterprise data teams on large-volume conversions.

Domain Data Accountability

  • Lead migration activities for:

  • Customer Master

  • Vendor Master

  • Material Master

  • BOMs and Routings

  • Open AR/AP balances

  • GL balances

  • Inventory

  • Ensure reconciliation between legacy and S/4 environments.

  • Support financial sign-off and operational validation.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Define validation rules and automated reconciliation checks.
  • Drive data cleansing initiatives with business data owners.
  • Collaborate with MDM teams to ensure master data harmonization.
  • Support compliance with SOX, ITGC, and audit controls.

Cutover & Deployment

  • Develop detailed cutover plans and migration runbooks.
  • Lead mock conversions and dress rehearsals.
  • Coordinate with functional, technical, and infrastructure teams.
  • Ensure minimal business disruption during go-live.
