About the role

As a Sr. HSE Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing the organization's health, safety, and environmental engineering efforts. You will ensure the highest standards of health and safety for employees, compliance with safety and environmental regulations and industry standards, and the implementation of best practices. You will report directly to our Sr. HSE Manager, and you'll work out of our Baton Rouge, LA location with the Baton Rouge site personnel.

Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders will ensure that HSE considerations are integrated into business processes and decision-making, contributing to the overall success and reputation of our business as a responsible and sustainable organization.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 3 years of experience in Health, Safety and Environmental compliance
  • 3 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for HSE-related incidents, including accidents and environmental emergencies.
  • Develop and manage the HSE budget, allocate resources, and seek cost-effective solutions to maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Promote environmental sustainability by implementing eco-friendly practices and minimizing the environmental impact of the organization's operations.
  • Establish and enforce quality control standards in HSE engineering, conducting regular inspections and performance assessments.
  • Maintain environmental programs, i.e, storm water, non-hazardous and hazardous waste streams, and air permitting

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status
