A Lead Project Engineer is required to lead and manage cross-functional teams in the design, development, and implementation of aircraft ECS (Environmental Control System) electronic products on both commercial and military aircraft platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing team efforts to achieve development schedule and performance goals within allocated cost and is required to provide technical authority for the assigned program(s). Assignments will range from management of large development projects, oversight of multiple development projects and product lines, or providing support to the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Engineering Support organization and Customer Support team.
The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance
The annual base salary range for this position is $125,000-140,000 in Ontario. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Applied Science
- Minimum of 8 years engineering experience in an aerospace/defense or related environment and leading multidisciplinary teams
- Minimum of 5 years project engineering experience including project planning, change management, earned value reporting, and experience with computer-based scheduling and reporting tools
WE VALUE
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronics and controls technologies, specifications and component characteristics
- Eng designation
- PMP designation
- Knowledge and experience with the software development process and DO-178B
- Environmental Control Systems knowledge is a strong asset
- Experience and/or recognition in affective closure of technical and program issues
- Discipline in defining and meeting customer & project requirements/objectives
- Strong problem-solving skills, leadership skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills, strategic planning in a team environment
- Strong leadership, coordination, communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
- Excels in a challenging, fast-paced environment
- Tenacity in meeting project objectives
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall technical coordination of design and development activities within the engineering functions to ensure that all customer requirements are addressed
- Establish and maintain detailed technical plans, estimates, and schedules
- Management of the program plan including scope, schedule, cost, technical, resource, and risk management
- Manage the product definition process from requirements definition through design, development, validation & verification, and introduction to production
- Program tracking and reporting using Project scheduling, reporting, and financial management tools as appropriate
- Focal point with all internal departments and customer interface
- The leadership of customer design reviews, technical co-ordination meetings, and engineering reviews with support from appropriate functional groups as required
- Project engineering process improvement
- Support proposal preparation for the growth of the ECS Controls Product group
- Support change management including scope, schedule, cost, technical, resource, and risk assessment as well as program change requests
