Sr. IT Architect – End User Computing Location: Bucharest, Romania

The future is what you make it. When you join Honeywell, you become a member of our global team of thinkers, innovators, dreamers and doers who make the things that make the future. That means changing the way we fly, fueling jets in an eco-friendly way, keeping buildings smart and safe and even making it possible to breathe on Mars. Working at Honeywell isn’t just about developing cool things. That’s why all of our employees enjoy access to dynamic career opportunities across different fields and industries. Are you ready to help us make the future?

The Senior IT Architect – End User Computing (EUC) is responsible for the architecture, design authority, and long‑term evolution of enterprise endpoint services supporting approximately 70,000 devices globally. This role provides end‑to‑end technical leadership for modern endpoint management platforms, including Microsoft Intune and supporting technologies, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned with enterprise strategy.

You will operate as the primary architectural authority for the EUC service, defining standards, guiding engineering decisions, and driving modernization initiatives while maintaining accountability for service stability and operational outcomes. The role requires a seasoned architect who can work independently, influence across teams, and translate business and security requirements into practical, supportable endpoint architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the end‑to‑end architecture for global End User Computing services, including endpoint management, provisioning, compliance, and lifecycle management.
  • Act as design authority for EUC solutions, setting technical standards, patterns, and guardrails for Windows and macOS platforms.
  • Lead large‑scale EUC modernization initiatives, including platform upgrades, standardization, and transformation of legacy endpoint ecosystems.
  • Partner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture teams to ensure EUC designs align with security, compliance, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Provide architectural oversight and technical guidance to engineering and operations teams, ensuring consistent and supportable implementations.
  • Drive automation and engineering excellence, embedding scalability, resiliency, and operational efficiency into endpoint designs.
  • Own EUC technical roadmaps, contributing to strategic planning, investment decisions, and long‑term platform direction.
  • Provide escalation‑level technical leadership for complex or high‑impact EUC issues, focusing on systemic resolution and risk reduction.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise End User Computing or endpoint management environments.
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior engineering or architecture role with responsibility for solution design and technical standards.
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and modern endpoint management architectures.
  • Proven experience designing and governing endpoint solutions at large enterprise scale (tens of thousands of devices globally).
  • Strong understanding of endpoint security architecture, compliance frameworks, and integration with identity and access management.
  • Advanced PowerShell and automation skills, with experience designing automation frameworks rather than ad‑hoc scripts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, make architectural decisions, and influence outcomes across organizational boundaries.
  • Experience operating within ITIL‑based service management environments while shaping design to minimize operational burden..

WE VALUE

  • Experience with complementary EUC platforms such as Tanium, JAMF, SCCM, Patch My PC, or equivalent enterprise tools.
  • Prior ownership of a global or regional EUC service, platform, or domain.
  • Strong ability to balance architecture, engineering, and operational realities in regulated enterprise environments.
  • Experience contributing to enterprise or domain‑level architecture boards and technical governance forums.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present architectural decisions to senior leadership.
  • Relevant certifications (Microsoft Endpoint, Security, Architecture, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated mentorship of engineers or analysts and contribution to capability uplift within teams.
  • Continuous learning mindset and awareness of emerging trends in endpoint management and digital employee experience.
  • Effectively demonstrates ability to deliver on complex situations or problems without guidance or supervision
  • Creative and collaborative problem-solving capability
  • Conveys specific, observable, and/or measurable expectations for each assignment, and verifies understanding and agreement on deliverables and timeframes
  • Consistently makes timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness
  • The ability to partner effectively across IT teams, suppliers and business customers on cross-functional projects and process improvements
  • Skill/proven ability to analyze complex problems and break them down into logical, actionable parts.
  • Self-motivated, demonstrated bias for action
  • The ability to be a change agent and promote positive change in the organization demonstrating drive for continual improvement and efficiency
