Position Overview
Honeywell is seeking a Senior IT Engineer – AEM Developer to support and modernize our global Customer Portal platforms. This role will serve as a senior technical contributor within the **Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)**ecosystem while partnering closely with teams building the future-state Headless Commerce and Portal platform leveraging NEXTJS and AWS.
The current portal environment is a hybrid architecture consisting of:

60% Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) / Adobe Managed Services (AMS)
-
40% NEXTJS applications hosted on AWS
This role will play a critical part in stabilizing and enhancing the current AEM footprint while enabling the transition toward a headless, composable digital architecture.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
-
6+ years of experience in enterprise web platform development.

4+ years hands-on experience with:
-
Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
-
Sling Models, OSGi, JCR, HTL
-
AEM Workflows & Dispatcher configuration
-
Adobe Managed Services (AMS) deployments
-
Experience integrating AEM with REST APIs and enterprise systems.
-
Familiarity with cloud-hosted environments (AWS preferred).
-
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
-
Experience working in global, matrixed enterprise environments.
Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to Headless CMS and Headless Commerce architectures

Experience with:

Node.js
-
AWS services (EC2, S3, CloudFront, Lambda)

API-first and microservices architectures

Knowledge of Adobe Commerce / Magento

Experience working in large-scale B2B customer portal environments

Key Responsibilities
AEM Platform Ownership (Primary Focus)
- Design, develop, and enhance features within Adobe Experience Manager (AEM 6.x / AEM as a Cloud Service).
- Build and maintain reusable components, templates, workflows, and integrations.
- Manage AEM deployments within Adobe Managed Services (AMS) environments.
- Optimize portal performance, scalability, and content delivery.
- Support upgrades, patching, and platform governance.
- Ensure security, compliance, and access controls within AEM.
Portal & Customer Experience Enablement
- Collaborate with global architecture teams to support the transition to Headless Commerce architecture.
- Integrate AEM with backend commerce, ERP, CRM, and API services.
- Partner with frontend teams leveraging NEXTJS to enable API-driven content delivery.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes across hybrid portal technologies.
Technical Architecture & Governance
- Contribute to portal reference architecture and future-state composable platform roadmap.
- Ensure adherence to Honeywell enterprise architecture standards.
- Drive performance, monitoring, and observability best practices.
- Participate in design reviews and technical governance forums.
