About the role

Advanced Software Engineer - TPO

As a Technical Product Owner here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for providing guidance through the product lifecycle, ensuring technical solutions are developed and delivered on schedule. You will collaborate with product management to align solutions with market and customer demand. You will be responsible for mitigating technical risks associated with new product development and providing rapid issue resolutions to minimize disruption. Through effective team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and proactive risk management, you will contribute to the organization's competitiveness by delivering high-quality, market-relevant products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult product stakeholders to understand business drivers and translate them into functional and non-functional requirements
  • You will work with Product Managers to evaluate the product Roadmap to identify features for development and identify "definition of done" for each feature
  • Engage with customers/prospects with unique ability to create partnerships over contractual relationships
  • Manage different stakeholders from across businesses and arrive at win-win solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize technical requirements.
  • Lead robust, fast (through) inceptions (identify scope, value, solution and release plan) and Own prioritized actionable backlogs
  • Manage scope and drive trade-off decisions in conjunction with external stakeholders while balancing business requirements with technical requirements
  • Elicit, capture, analyze, refine and document business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and other technical documentation
  • Drive the development of technical specifications and ensure alignment with overall product strategy
  • Provide technical guidance to the development team throughout the product lifecycle
  • Research and analyze industry trends and benchmarking information as they apply to the HCI (Honeywell Connected Industrial) business model and domain area needs
  • Dissect high-level information into details and communicate details in a manner understood by relevant audiences
  • Attend standups, grooming meetings, estimation meetings, retrospectives and other key meetings for the scrum team
  • Co-own Release Plans and communicate changes to stakeholders regularly
  • Define Product roadmap based on various requirements gathered from consumers.
  • Follow complete lifecycle of project benefit, including reporting back on adoption, business value and customer satisfaction post go-live
  • Identify blockers that will impact timeline, scope, cost or other product variables and escalate to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • BTech/BE or higher in Instrumentation / Chemical / Computer Science or another related field
  • Business analysis in a complex and Cross-Functional Stakeholder environment
  • 3+ Years of experience in working with Industrial Automation Domain. Prior experience with DCS/PLC/Operator Training Simulator systems would be added advantage
  • Candidates with prior experience in Process Industry would be preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in Agile development environments as a Product Owner/Business Analyst
  • Proficient in multiple Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, design thinking, UX, and other frameworks. Must have good hands on with JIRA and Confluence tools usage.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and processes
  • Proven ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills to solve, or lead the solving of, strategic problems of high complexity on a large scale
