Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer of Honeywell, the **Regional Compliance Officer (China)**has primary responsibility for leading and continuously improving the company’s compliance framework in Greater China. This is a newly created role to provide strategic and practical compliance leadership across key compliance and regulatory areas, while partnering closely with business and functional leaders to embed compliance ownership across the Honeywell China organization.

The Regional Compliance Officer (RCO) role is an agile, high‑impact function that drives business performance through its mission to enable growth while intelligently managing risk, advancing a strategy of regional empowerment, simplification, digital enablement, and excelling in a cross‑domain environment. The RCO will partner with global subject matter experts across the compliance and regulatory organizations to drive a robust, risk‑based compliance program tailored to region‑specific legal, regulatory, and business risks. The role requires strong change‑management capability, sound judgment, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in a complex operating environment.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • 12-15 years of relevant experience in compliance, legal, or risk management
  • Significant experience as a compliance subject matter expert, whether that is specific expertise in one area, e.g., anticorruption or broader regulatory compliance matters
  • Fluency in English (written and oral)

WE VALUE

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal or compliance qualification
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese, written and oral
  • Strong integrity, sound judgment, and professional credibility
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and business partners
  • Experience working in China in a multinational corporate environment and/or leading China compliance programs
  • Experience in a major law firm, regulatory body, or corporate legal/compliance department
  • Strong initiative, resilience, and ability to navigate complex and sensitive situations
  • Excellent communication, training, and stakeholder‑management skills
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted compliance partner embedded in the region to be closer to the day‑to‑day business activities. Advise senior management and business leaders on compliance risks, controls, and remediation strategies in a practical, business‑focused manner
  • The connector that will align the right compliance & regulatory experts to the table at the right time. Partner with subject matter experts to execute and communicate compliance risk assessments and ensure mitigation plans are effectively implemented and tracked
  • A practical advisor who helps translate global standards into clear, region‑specific guidance. Assess, monitor, and mitigate legal and compliance risks specific to China operations, including anticorruption, sanctions, export controls, trade, and antitrust
  • A regional partner focused on reducing friction and enabling decision-making that is faster and better informed
  • Support internal investigations, including allegation intake, fact‑finding, documentation, and remediation, in coordination with Legal, HR, and other relevant functions
  • Develop, tailor, and deliver compliance training and awareness programs for employees and relevant external parties in China
  • Lead or support post‑acquisition integration activities from a compliance perspective, including remediation and audit closing actions
  • Track internal and external compliance trends in China and proactively recommend enhancements to policies, controls, and processes

Act as a trusted advisor and visible compliance leader within the China organization
