As a Plant Mechanic, and reliable operation of the hotel's equipment and machinery – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Rising above the San Diego Bay and steps from the Gaslamp Quarter and Petco Park, Hilton San Diego Bayfront is the signature So Cal resort. The team is looking for a Plant Mechanic. If you are a hands-on type of person who likes to fix things, this is the position for you. This is a great position working within our Engineering Department with opportunities to learn, grow and advance your career.

You will also be able to enjoy some of the positive vibes of the waterfront area as well. Our waterfront hotel has 1,190 guest rooms and over 170,000 square feet elegant indoor and gorgeous outdoor event spaces.

Shift Pattern: Varied (Union role) – AM PM Overnight. Open availability required including weekends and holidays; shifts will be dependent on business levels and seniority scheduling.

The ideal candidate will have:

12 mo building maintenance knowledge.
Boiler experience.
Hospitality knowledge.
Flexible scheduling availability for AM PM Overnight shifts.

Here's what you'll do during a typical day:

  • Keep equipment running smoothly: Perform routine preventive and non-scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs of hotel machinery
  • Respond to service requests: Quickly handle guest and team member work orders for equipment and machinery repairs
  • Document maintenance activities: Record completed repairs and flag any issues requiring further attention
