Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi made a wow debut in 2019 and is already recognized as one of the finest resorts in the world. Sprawled across three islands, the resort is one of the most sizable in the Maldives. It boasts the country’s largest spa, extensive recreation facilities and it’s the Maldives resort with the most culinary choices (an impressive 11 specialty cuisine dining options). Besides its 117 luxurious villas, the resort is also home to an exclusive offering: a private island, the largest in the country which is to be rented out in its entirety.

What will I be doing?
As a Reservations Sales Agent serving Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, you will serve as the first line of inquiry for room reservations within the hotel. A Reservation Agent is responsible for offering excellent customer service, options, and other solutions to meet Guest and customer needs. As Reservation Sales Agent for Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, you will be responsible for assisting the Reservations department, whereby your role will include key responsibilities such as:

Handle incoming reservation requests via e-mail and by telephone observing response time (respond to all incoming correspondence within two hours).

Work closely with all travel agents from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan to assist with all reservation requests require Chinese speaking.

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all resort accommodations, services, and facilities.
-
Be aware of any repeat guest or VIP information, preferences, and previous details, and respect privacy and confidentiality.

Process all reservations in Opera accurately, observing all necessary codes that are created to track statistical data.
-
Follow up on missing details on reservations for completion and make any necessary amendments.
-
File all reservations and related correspondence as per the set guidelines.

Always up-sell room categories whenever possible.
-
Issue Pro-forma invoices for all new reservations at the time of confirmation and update trace for payment follow-up.

Ensure full payments are received prior to guest check-in for any last-minute reservations.

Ensure all outgoing correspondence is in accordance with standard resort formats.

Deals with complaints efficiently and courteously and brings all reservation related issues or difficulties to the immediate attention of reservation Supervisor.

Education:

Qualifications or courses relating to Customer Care, Reservations, and Revenue

Educated to College level with previous Reservations experience
Experience:
-
Previous experience (minimum 3 years) of working in a similar role with a Luxury Resort/Hotel
-
Proven experience of working to and understanding key functions of Reservations department
Competencies

Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, Word) and related software’s, and Opera
-
Demonstrates ability to interact effectively with various levels of management
-
Friendly demeanor, positive and enthusiastic attitude with strong customer focus and ability to work independently

Honesty, integrity, passion for hard work and achieving results and successful outcomes
-
Enjoys working collaboratively and is a key team player with a “can do” attitude and thrives on a challenge
