The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Seasonal Guest Service Coordinator to join the Bell person team!
Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world and after a $400M renovation and expansion, the resort is more stunning than ever.
Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 750 rooms (to include cottages and villas), 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.
Classification: Full-Time
Shift: Various – must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Pay Rate: The pay rate for this role is $21.16 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
Union Position: This position is part of the Local 30 Union which requires complete open availability. We are not able to accommodate schedule restrictions and full-time hours are not guaranteed. Hours and schedule are based on seniority and business needs and may be minimal at times until seniority is established. You must be comfortable with a schedule and hours that may vary from week to week.
What will I be doing?
As a Guest Service Coordinator, you would be responsible for providing office support in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Handle all phone calls, verbal requests, and computer originated requests delegating these tasks to a bell person, G.E.L., Concierge or Supervisor. Ensure all necessary information is accurate, complete & legible on claim tickets, charge slips or handwritten logs.
- Prepare all paperwork, rooming lists and other necessary items for amenity deliveries or group porterage. Ensure all information is accurate and complete in digital software. Communicate operational or guest challenges to management. Handle meeting planner requests in efficient & professional manner.
- Store & retrieve guest luggage. Give guests directions to meeting rooms/guest rooms as needed. Check and be aware of daily activities, transactions and occupancy.
- Able to convey resort outlet information and other hotel services
- Maintain an atmosphere of pleasant hospitality including clear communication with guests, staff and management
- Greet guests in the lobby as they pass by. During periods of slower business the Guest Services Coordinator, should be standing in the lobby and in front of the Bell Reception desk, in order to more effectively greet guests as they arrive to the lobby
- The Guest Services Coordinator must also be able to operate the elevator for at least thirty (30) minutes
- Participate in internal meetings as needed. Convey Resort outlet information and other hotel services. Cover “non-tipped” positions’ breaks, such as Valet Cashier, Aloha Booth etc.
