
Catering and Banquet Manager
About the role
What will I be doing?
As a Catering and Banquet Manager, you are responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards\:

Manages customer relationship through drafting proposals and contracts, responding to customer inquiries, as well as organizing arrangements as they relate to social and corporate events ie\: set-up and execution of social and corporate meetings, meals and special events. Provides direction and supervision of meeting and/or catering logistics to catering and event services managers and other departments and team members responsible for event execution

Represents the hotel and conducts conferences with individual customers by telephone or in-person to solicit and close group and local catering business. Meets with and entertains customers, conducts property tours and promotes facilities and services and within parameters, has discretion to negotiate contracts with customers and commission agreements with vendors

Assists in the physical movement of hotel or customer equipment or furnishings as necessary to complete a tight turn-around of public function space

Audits customer checks and department charges and files to ensure accuracy

Supervises staff in creation and distribution of accurate written materials

Ensures that contracts, menus, letters and reports are completed according to Hilton standards and policies

Re-book functions and follow-up with customers by sending a thank you

Compiles Food and Beverage post event report

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel sales, catering, banquets, or event coordination, preferably within international hotel brands.
- Experience leading commercial teams and/or event coordination teams.
- Strong commercial skills and ability to identify new local business opportunities for the hotel.
- Goal-oriented with strong focus on achieving sales targets, budgets, and departmental commercial KPIs.
- Ability to monitor and control event operations, ensuring high service standards and guest experience.
- Experience in the coordination and execution of corporate events, social events, groups, and banquets.
- Ability to develop strong business relationships with clients, companies, agencies, and event planners.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills to manage multiple events and requests simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation and business closing skills.
- Leadership skills with the ability to coach, support, and develop teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation and interpersonal relationship abilities.
- Dynamic, proactive, detail-oriented profile with a strong focus on results.
- Ability to perform efficiently in high-demand operational environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to appropriately handle client situations during events.
- Excellent service attitude toward both internal and external clients.
- High level of commitment, initiative, and sense of urgency.
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and commercial/hotel platforms.
- Minimum English level\: B2.
- Knowledge and experience in budget creation, forecasting, and execution.
- Availability and schedule flexibility according to operational and event execution needs.
