Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi made a wow debut in 2019 and is already recognized as one of the finest resort in the world. Sprawled across three islands, the resort is one of the most sizable in the Maldives. It boasts the country’s largest spa, extensive recreation facilities and it’s the Maldives resort with the most culinary choices (an impressive 11 specialty cuisine dining options). Besides its 117 luxurious villas, the resort is also home to an exclusive offering: a private island, the largest in the country which is to be rented out in its entirety.

Once you get a glimpse of this sun-soaked nirvana, size is almost beside the point. Luxurious villas act as vast private indoor-outdoor playgrounds, each featuring its own private pool. Everywhere you look, from your standalone villa bathtub to the glass-bottomed floors in the spa’s treatment pavilions, the azure water steals the show.

JOB DESCRIPTIONWHAT WILL I BE DOING?

As Food and Beverage Manager, you are responsible for assisting the Director of Food & Beverage in managing operations of all Food and Beverage outlets to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. Food and Beverage Manager will also be required to manage, train, and develop team members and work within all budgeted guidelines. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • In conjunction with the Director of F&B, manage all Food and Beverage Outlet operations

  • Maintain a strong guest-focused approach, proactively addressing needs and delivering exceptional service at all times.

  • Take personal responsibility, resolve issues effectively, and communicate clearly with guests and colleagues.

  • Demonstrate motivation, enthusiasm, flexibility, and commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

  • Foster teamwork, collaboration, and support to achieve departmental and resort goals.

  • Uphold and champion Waldorf Astoria Brand Standards, “True Waldorf Service,” and “Live Unforgettable” experiences.

  • Ensure full compliance with service delivery standards, quality audits, grooming, safety, hygiene, and resort policies.

  • Oversee beverage operations, including menu planning, cocktail promotions, recipe standardization, and cost control.

  • Maintain accurate beverage pricing, forecasting, inventory management, and POS system updates.

  • Drive upselling strategies, revenue targets, and proactive sales of resort facilities and F&B events.

  • Monitor financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, price reviews, and cost awareness initiatives.

  • Develop operational tools, purchasing procedures, and administrative planning to support business objectives.

  • Conduct market research, monitor trends, and reposition outlets to remain competitive and innovative.

  • Lead training, coaching, performance management, and talent development to build a high-performing team.

  • Collaborate with HR on recruitment, retention, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.

  • Act as a commercial, creative, and professional ambassador of the resort, demonstrating leadership, initiative, and strong business acumen

As Food and Beverage Manager serving Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service

  • Extensive Food & Beverage Experience within a luxury setting.

  • Excellent communication skills, effective management, leadership, organizational and communications skills

  • Ability to assemble, analyze, understand integrated spread sheets and complex technical information.

  • Strong presentations skills

  • Prioritization skills necessary to meet deadlines

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Degree/ Diploma in relevant area, ideally Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management

  • Luxury resort experience
