We are seeking a Senior Director of Technology to lead our Interoperability and Data organization during a pivotal modernization phase.

This leader will shape the future of our healthcare data and API platforms—advancing FHIR-based interoperability, modernizing our enterprise data architecture, and transitioning core systems from on-premise infrastructure to cloud-native environments.

Over the next 12–24 months, key priorities include:

  • Evolving our API strategy to a FHIR-driven, platform-centric model
  • Modernizing our data warehouse using Snowflake and Databricks (bronze/silver/gold architecture)
  • Strengthening and scaling our SQL Server ecosystem
  • Enabling near real-time data access and analytics
  • Driving AI agent enablement through MCP tooling
  • Advancing healthcare interoperability standards across next-generation software systems

This is a senior organizational leadership role responsible for long-term technology direction, operational excellence, and leadership development across multiple teams. The Senior Director partners closely with Product and Executive Leadership to ensure our data platforms scale securely, reliably, and strategically.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the long-term strategy for interoperability and enterprise data platforms
  • Lead and develop multiple engineering leaders and teams
  • Establish enterprise database and data architecture standards
  • Modernize and optimize SQL Server environments for performance, scalability, and high availability
  • Oversee implementation of Snowflake and Databricks lakehouse models
  • Enable near real-time analytics and scalable data processing
  • Advance FHIR-based API strategy and healthcare interoperability capabilities
  • Partner with executive stakeholders on investment decisions and roadmap sequencing
  • Drive operational rigor, compliance, security, and system reliability
  • Sponsor innovation, including AI-enabled development workflows

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of progressive technology experience, including 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience architecting and modernizing enterprise data platforms and API ecosystems
  • Experience of leading managers and multiple engineering teams (manager-of-managers experience required)
  • Deep expertise in relational database systems and enterprise data architecture
  • Background in Microsoft SQL Server, including performance tuning, indexing strategies, query optimization, high availability, and large-scale data environments
  • Extensive experience with SQL and advanced data modeling principles
  • Experience modernizing enterprise data warehouses and migrating to cloud-based platforms
  • Experience supporting near real-time or high-volume data processing systems
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards, particularly FHIR, HL7, etc.
  • Experience with C#/.NET and RESTful API environments
  • Familiarity with Kafka, containerized hosting, and modern DevOps ecosystems
  • Experience operating in regulated or compliance-driven environments preferred
  • Strong executive communication and organizational leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare technology or regulated industries
  • Familiarity with HITRUST, HIPAA, and healthcare compliance environments
  • Experience leading large-scale platform transformations
