Job Summary

Database Administration Install, configure, and maintain MS SQL Server (2016/2017/2019/2022). Manage database instances, schemas, tables, indexes, and storage structures. Perform database upgrades, migrations, and patching activities. Ensure database health, integrity, and consistency. 2. Performance Tuning & Optimization Analyze and optimize slow-running queries using execution plans. Perform index optimization, partitioning, and query tuning. Identify bottlenecks in CPU, memory, I/O, and storage. Implement best practices for performance monitoring and improvement. 3. High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HADR) Configure and manage: Always On Availability Groups Failover Cluster Instances (FCI) Log Shipping Replication (Transactional, Merge, Snapshot) Ensure DR readiness and perform failover testing. Design and implement backup and recovery strategies. 4. Backup & Recovery Design and manage backup strategies (Full, Differential, Log backups). Perform point-in-time recovery and restore operations. Ensure backup validation and compliance with RPO/RTO. 5. Troubleshooting & Incident Management Act as Level 3 escalation point for critical database issues. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and provide permanent fixes. Handle production incidents and performance degradation issues. Work closely with application and infrastructure teams. 6. Security & Compliance Implement database security (logins, roles, permissions). Manage encryption (TDE, SSL, Always Encrypted). Conduct vulnerability assessments and audits. Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. 7. Automation & Monitoring Develop scripts using T-SQL, PowerShell for automation. Implement monitoring tools (SQL Server Agent, Extended Events, Profiler, SCOM, Solar Winds, etc.). Set up alerts and proactive monitoring mechanisms.
