About the role
Job Summary
Database Management & Operations Specialist with around 10 years of experience working with SQL Server and Oracle environments. Strong understanding of database operations, administration tasks, and platform evolution, combined with solid exposure to Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The role is primarily coordination- and management-oriented, working hand in hand with the lead DBA as a close collaborator rather than a backup, while still performing selected administrative activities. A communicative and proactive professional, with a strong ability to work collaboratively in teams and support both technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Lead database operations using PostgreSQL, Oracle RAC/ASM, and MS SQL, ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and adherence to client SLAs in production environments.

Implement advanced monitoring and automation tools for proactive issue detection and resolution across PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MS SQL platforms.

Drive root cause analysis and resolution of complex database incidents, leveraging expertise in PostgreSQL and Oracle Administration to minimize downtime and ensure data integrity.

Mentor and guide the support team in executing database backup, recovery, patching, and upgrade activities, ensuring compliance with security and audit requirements.

Collaborate within the team to develop and refine operational processes using PostgreSQL and Oracle best practices, fostering continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Provide expert solutions for database scalability, performance tuning, and capacity planning using PostgreSQL and Oracle RAC/ASM technologies.

Evaluate and introduce innovative tools and techniques to enhance database reliability, automation, and operational efficiency.

Ensure transparent communication of project and operational goals within the team, aligning database operations with organizational and client objectives.
Skill Requirements

Excellent Proficiency With Oracle Rac/Asm Configuration, Maintenance, And Troubleshooting.

Advanced Skills In Ms Sql Server Administration And Automation.

Experience With Database Monitoring Tools (E.G., Oracle Enterprise Manager, Pgadmin, Sql Server Management Studio).

Advanced Proficiency In Scripting With Shell, Python, Or Powershell For Database Automation.

Strong Understanding Of Itil Processes For Incident, Change, And Problem Management.
