About the role
Job Summary
IBM i (AS/400/i Series) Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our IBM i environment, ensuring high availability, security, and peak performance across all systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for system configuration, PTF management, user profile administration, job scheduling, backup and recovery operations, disk and storage management, and performance tuning, while also managing TCP/IP communications, LPAR configurations, and integration with enterprise networks. This role requires hands-on expertise with OS/400 or IBM i operating systems, CL and RPG programming fundamentals, DB2 for i database administration, work management, security best practices (including auditing and compliance), and experience with high-availability solutions such as MIMIX, iTERA, or IBM PowerHA. The administrator will collaborate with application development teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors to troubleshoot issues, plan capacity, implement upgrades, and drive automation initiatives that improve operational efficiency. A minimum of 5+ years of IBM i administration experience, strong problem-solving skills, and relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Systems Administrator) are highly preferred.
