Key Responsibilities
Role definition
The Project Manager/Senior Project Manager will be responsible for taking engagements that are of medium complexity from initiation to close out. The project manager will adhere to the HCL Project Management Methodology and deliver these engagements to mutually agreed upon scope, schedule, and budget within the parameters of the overall account strategy.
This role provides the single point of contact/accountability for the project responsible for project planning, managing work activities, project financials, communication, status reporting, risk management, and change management.
The project manager is expected to bring functional depth as well as solid project management skills to work collaboratively with the customer resources and the HCL project team to deliver results.
Skill Requirements
Expected qualification and critical experiences –
- Manage the planning, delivery and closure of medium to major complexity project types using the PMO methodology and processes, and delivery resources as required to ensure smooth delivery, project closure, customer satisfaction, and harvesting any IP developed by the project
- Work with the operations analysts and resource managers to ensure that all systems are maintained for the project to ensure accurate forecasting.
- Control and tracking of the project deliverables, resources scheduling, revenue tracking reporting as well as partner work orders and cost tracking.
- Work with delivery resources to manage services and ensure that projects are within schedule, scope, features/functionality, revenue, travel and expenses and margins.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through smooth project delivery, clear and responsive communications, and controlled change, facilitate customer satisfaction and project quality reviews as required.
- Contribute to PMO standards/processes and best practice development.
- Ensure adherence to PMO standards and compliance through risk identification and management, active issue management and scope control ensuring that all changes follow the project change control process.
Other Requirements
Mandatory Skills and Certification: Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools. Good financial understanding - ability to interpret and challenge financial KPIs. Experience in leading international, cross-functional, remotely based teams. Proactive, self-motivated, and determined attitude Strategically focused and customer-oriented Critical thinking and problem solving Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or equivalent relevant experience. Proven experience of demonstrated competence in a project management delivery role. Project Management Certification/Knowledge such as PMI PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner is a plus.
