About the role

Job Summary

Owns vulnerability remediation across the AIX estate. Largely manual today; role includes feeding automation patterns into Phase 2.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute AIX patching cycles: SP, TL, interim fix application.
  • Coordinate maintenance windows with application owners.
  • Maintain runbooks for AIX patching and rollback.
  • Liaise with IBM Support for advisory triage and complex cases.
  • Document automation candidates for Phase 2.

Skill Requirements

  • Deep AIX administration: smit, NIM, HACMP / PowerHA.
  • Familiarity with AIX patch management (suma, nimadm, multibos).
  • Understanding of LPAR and Power VM environments.

Other Requirements

  • IBM Certified System Administrator — AIX.
  • Scripting in Korn shell, Python.
  • Exposure to PowerVC.
