SME - Veritas NetBackup, Symantec Backup Exec

Job Summary

• Install and configure Backup/Recovery tools (Veritas Net Backup)

• Maintain & update/upgrade backup/recovery tools (Veritas Net Backup )

• Create/configure/Execute backup jobs

• Experience on Net Backup 9.x/10.x version

• Experience on Net Backup Appliance 5240/5250/5340 and Flex Appliance

• Knowledge of EMC Data Domain DD2500/DD9500/DD990/DD9800/DD6300 and DD VE Version 4.0

• Maintain & update/upgrade Veritas Ops Center.

• Thorough with change management process

• Resolve backup related incidents - backup team will provide support for all approved systems. (ex. UNIX, Windows, Linux)

• Perform restore testing only as per operational schedule.

• Perform recovery in case of disaster.

• Monitor daily reports of Data Domain, Backup status reports.

• Handle upgrades, migrations, and optimizations.

• Lead backup migration and transformation projects.

• Expertise in Net Backup architecture, MSDP, and SLP.

• Knowledge of cloud and hybrid backup environments.

• Hardware troubleshooting

• Good in documentation practices and having clarity with regulations such as GxP, SOX will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure Timely Resolution And Quality Compliance Of Escalated Incidents By Leveraging Expertise In Symantec Netbackup And Symantec Backup Exec, Adhering To Agreed Slas.

2. Mentor Team Members And Administrators By Preparing Standard Operating Procedures (Sops) And Maintaining Effective Documentation To Promote Knowledge Sharing And Operational Excellence.

3. Validate Change Order Implementation Plans And Ensure Human Error Compliance, While Actively Participating In Capacity Planning To Optimize Resource Allocation.

4. Foster Positive Customer Relationships Through Active Participation In Customer Meetings, Addressing Any Concerns And Ensuring Customer Satisfaction.

5. Conduct Thorough Validations Of Analyses Such As Root Cause Analysis And Trend Analysis, Preparing Comprehensive Reports To Present Findings And Performance Metrics To Key Stakeholders.
