Job Summary

L3 Job Description M365 Services Job Summary:The M365 L3 Engineer is a senior-level role within the IT Operations team, responsible for managing andmaintaining the Microsoft 365 (M365) environment for the organization. The primary focus of this role isto provide expert-level technical support, administration, and optimization of the M365 suite of services,ensuring seamless communication, collaboration, and productivity for all users. The M365 L3 Engineerwill work closely with other IT teams, end-users, and stakeholders to deliver reliable and efficient M365services.Key Responsibilities:1) M365 Administration: Manage and oversee the configuration, deployment, and administrationof Microsoft 365 services, including but not limited to Exchange Online, Share Point Online,One Drive for Business, Teams, Power Automate and related applications.2) Technical Support: Provide advanced-level troubleshooting and issue resolution for complexM365-related incidents and service requests. Collaborate with L1 and L2 support teams toresolve escalated problems effectively and in a timely manner.3) Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyze the performance of M365 services, identifyingopportunities for optimization, scalability improvements, and resource utilizationenhancements.4) Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices, data protection, andcompliance policies across the M365 environment. Stay updated with the latest security threatsand ensure the environment remains secure and compliant.5) Migration and Upgrades: Plan and execute migration projects and upgrades for M365 services,ensuring minimal disruption to end-users. Evaluate new features and capabilities andrecommend their adoption to enhance productivity.6) Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of M365 configurations,procedures, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.7) User Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to end-users on M365 applicationsand features to enhance user adoption and proficiency.8) Vendor Collaboration: Engage with Microsoft support and other relevant vendors to resolvecomplex technical issues and collaborate on improving the M365 environment.9) Change Management: Collaborate with change management teams to ensure seamlessdeployment of updates, patches, and configuration changes in the M365 environment.10) Automation and Scripting: Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline repetitivetasks and enhance operational efficiency within the M365 environment.11) Capacity Planning: Monitor resource usage trends and plan for capacity expansion as necessaryto accommodate organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

.12) Reporting: Generate regular reports on the performance, availability, and utilization of M365services for management review.Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalentwork experience).
  • Microsoft 365 certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert,Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, etc.
  • Proven experience as a senior-level engineer or administrator in managing complex M365environments.
  • Strong understanding of M365 services, including Exchange Online, Share Point Online, Teams,One Drive for Business, and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of security practices, compliance requirements, and data protection withinthe M365 environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with project management and the ability to lead migration and upgrade projects.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices for IT service management.The M365 L3 Engineer role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and optimization of Microsoft 365 services within the organization. This role requires a deep technical understanding, strongproblem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to deliver exceptional ITservices.
