About the role
Job Summary
Owns vulnerability remediation across the AIX estate. Largely manual today; role includes feeding automation patterns into Phase 2.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute AIX patching cycles: SP, TL, interim fix application.
- Coordinate maintenance windows with application owners.
- Maintain runbooks for AIX patching and rollback.
- Liaise with IBM Support for advisory triage and complex cases.
- Document automation candidates for Phase 2.
Skill Requirements
- Deep AIX administration: smit, NIM, HACMP / PowerHA.
- Familiarity with AIX patch management (suma, nimadm, multibos).
- Understanding of LPAR and Power VM environments.
Other Requirements
- IBM Certified System Administrator — AIX.
- Scripting in Korn shell, Python.
- Exposure to PowerVC.
