Job Summary

Environment Management Engineer\r\n As an Environment Management member of our CDX Spend Management Cloud Operations team, you will be at the forefront of architecting, securely designing and running the next generation of SAP Fieldglass platforms. You will be part of a high-performance team which continuously improves the reliability of critical systems, working closely with development and operations teams. The ideal candidate will take a proactive approach with deployments and maintenance of customer sandbox environments and leveraging advanced tools to gain real-time insights and identify potential issues before they escalate. By partnering and collaborating with colleagues across technology teams, you will play a key role in guiding efforts around each platform’s best practices, enrolling colleagues in your designs and building high-performance, secure and distributed global platforms at scale to support our customers.

Excellent communication skills and presentation skills\\\\r\\\\n2+ years of experience designing & implementing production-grade services in public cloud providers\\\\r\\\\n2+ years of experience scripting (e.g. Bash, Python, NodeJS, etc.)\\\\r\\\\n Experience in public cloud IaaS and PaaS architectures, patterns and service offerings across Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and SAP Cloud Platform\\\\r\\\\n Knowledge of container runtimes and formats such as Docker and OCI\\\\r\\\\n Exceptional experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, custom resource definitions and Kubernetes operators (CKAD, CKA or CKS is a plus)\\\\r\\\\n Working knowledge of SAP Gardener Platform\\\\r\\\\n Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g. Travis, Argo), with a Git Ops mindset of leveraging automation over manual interference\\\\r\\\\n Comfortable adapting to dynamic technologies, a self-starter, and a passion for technology and cloud\\\\r\\\\n Familiarity with DevOps, observability and agile software development roles and concepts\\\\r\\\\n Familiarity with observability tools (Dynatrace, Elastic, Splunk, etc.)\\\\r\\\\n Experienced with logging, metrics, traces, monitoring and alerting

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, run and analyze the platform strategy for microservices and traditional 3-tier service architectures including IaaS, PaaS services for Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and SAP Cloud Platform.\r\n Analyze textual records of system-generated messages, events, and activities that offer detailed insight into system behavior, errors, and user actions\r\n Leverage automation and AI to analyze and optimize deployments and deliverables.\r\n Deployments and maintenance of customer sandbox environments.\r\n Guide research & design / PoC efforts for latest public cloud architectures.\r\n Engage, influence and improve our culture of learning, including participation and driving best practices and principles based on industry experience, trends and self-discovery\r\n Collaborate with multiple technology teams to deliver highly-available, performant and secure platforms across multiple regions\r\n Participating with On Call rotation and support activities\r\n Other duties as assigned
