Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team responsible for the software design of platform automation and customer workloads. In this role, you will bridge the gap between physical infrastructure and cloud-native applications, leading the design, implementation, and operations of our On-Premises Containerization and Virtualization platform. This position drives operational excellence for complex cloud-native environments, ensuring reliable delivery of containerized services and infrastructure automation. The individual leads technical operations, fosters team growth, and implements advanced solutions using Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS PaaS offerings. They play a pivotal role in optimizing processes, resolving critical incidents, and championing continuous improvement aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Platform & Workload Engineering: Lead the implementation of automation and new feature capabilities. Drive operational efficiencies and enhance the developer experience by automating both the platform infrastructure and the customer offerings that reside on it. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, inspire, and grow a team of Open Shift Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) and DevOps Engineers. Promote a collaborative environment through paired programming and continuous learning. Global Platform Operations: Oversee the operations of On-Prem Open Shift platforms across Enterprise Data Centers (EDCs), China Data Centers, and Manufacturing Plants. Operational Excellence: Align with a 24x7 support model, managing Asia/Pacific (India) hours and meeting EPEO MTT(x) metrics. Act as a primary escalation point for critical engineering or operational issues. Strategic Vision: Contribute to the technical roadmap for the Open Shift On-Prem platform, ensuring security, performance, and scalability for both containerized and virtual machine (VM) workloads. 1. Lead operational excellence by architecting, implementing, and optimizing container orchestration using Kubernetes and EKS, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of production environments.
2. Drive infrastructure automation and configuration management by designing and governing Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, enhancing deployment efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
3. Oversee AWS PaaS operations, including the management of services such as Lambda, RDS, and S3, ensuring reliable and optimal service delivery aligned with client expectations and SLAs.
4. Provide expert guidance on Linux systems administration and AWS CloudFormation usage to streamline system provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting for complex operational challenges.
5. Mentor and lead the technical operations team, fostering knowledge sharing on Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS best practices, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
6. Evaluate, introduce, and implement new tools and methodologies for operational process development, driving organizational progress and operational efficiency.
7. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with operational goals and customer needs.
8. Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and governance standards across all cloud operations and infrastructure deployments.
Skill Requirements
- Excellent Skills In Terraform For Infrastructure As Code Design, Deployment, And Lifecycle Management.
- Advanced Proficiency In Aws Paas Services (Lambda, Rds, S3, Etc.) And Aws Cloudformation For Cloud Resource Provisioning.
- Strong Linux Administration And Troubleshooting Capabilities In Cloud Environments.
- Excellent Understanding Of Operational Management, Incident Response, And Process Optimization In Large Scale Cloud Settings.
- Advanced Ability To Mentor, Lead, And Empower Technical Teams In Cloud Operations And Devops Practices.
- Excellent Problem Solving, Communication, And Stakeholder Management Skills.
