Job Summary

Owns vulnerability remediation across the hypervisor estate (ESXi-family and equivalent) and bare-metal hosts. Operates within semi-automated patching workflows; contributes heavily to the Phase 2 automation expansion when scope extends.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute hypervisor firmware patching on ESXi (or equivalent) clusters.
• Coordinate rolling reboots and DRS/v Motion-aware maintenance.
• Patch bare-metal BIOS / BMC / iLO / iDRAC firmware in line with vendor advisories.
• Maintain compatibility matrices (HCL) and validate post-patch cluster health.
• Coordinate with storage and network teams for dependent patching.
• Drive automation candidates into Phase 2 backlog

Skill Requirements

• Strong VMware v Sphere / ESXi administration (or equivalent hypervisor stack).
• Hands-on bare-metal management: HPE iLO, Dell iDRAC, Cisco UCS Manager, Lenovo XCC.
• Familiarity with cluster-aware maintenance: DRS, v Motion, evacuation procedures.
• Understanding of storage and network dependencies during patching.

Other Requirements

• VMware VCP-DCV or higher.
• Experience with Tanzu / Nutanix / Hyper-V is a plus.
• Scripting with PowerCLI, Python, Ansible.
