About the role
Job Summary
Job Description (Summary) The Senior Instructional Designer role is responsible for influencing other instructional designers, business partners, and developers in their choice of educational approach. They are also responsible for developing and delivering technologically innovative, engaging learning experiences and support materials based off sound learning principles. You will empower the users of Quest Diagnostics customer facing software products as well as internal staff with the skills needed for their successful use. This involves partnering with business stakeholders, product managers, subject matter experts (SMEs) and peers using consulting skills to perform needs analysis, design the solution, select the right delivery option(s), evaluate effectiveness, and support corporate-wide training and communication initiatives. Delivery formats may include instructor led or virtual training, video, e Learning, written communication, simulations, etc... The Senior Instructional Designer should also be able to develop online or print-based instructional materials that adhere to internal style and brand guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complexity • Conduct needs analysis to identify required skills, knowledge, and workflows for effective product utilization for internal and external customers.
- Design and deliver engaging learning experiences using a variety of methods (e.g., e Learning, videos, classroom training) based on adult learning principles.
- Maintain expertise in assigned product functionality, customer workflows, and internal applications.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the workflow and usage of Quest Quanum and Quest internal applications within healthcare facilities.
- Create and maintain training materials, ensuring alignment with system updates.
- Act as a resource to support, implementation, sales and other groups.
- Provide input into the design of software offerings to meet market needs.
- Partner with Learning Design peers to develop, deliver, and evaluate training programs, incorporating customer feedback.
- Stay current with trends in training, learning design, and emerging technologies to innovate learning initiatives.
- Deliver training via one-on-one sessions, classroom, or virtual formats.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams, and management to ensure requirements are being met and projects are kept on schedule • Continuously monitor and solicit feedback on all training programs and materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness, while driving enhancements for improved adoption.
- Decipher usage analytics and determine improvements or retirements of materials.
- Coach peers to more effective learning choices for products or business partners.
- Create instruction that enhances the retention, transfer, and application of knowledge, skills, and attitudes specific to roles, performance, culture, and outcomes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Work Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience with adult learning, instructional design, curriculum development, and professional development.
- 3+ years’ hands-on experience developing formalized business and software education and training through traditional and Agile development lifecycles including SAFe and/or Scrum.
- 3+ years’ experience consulting with clients or business partners to determine the best instructional solutions and/or strategies.
- Exemplify digital dexterity with technology suites such as: Articulate, Vyond, Ad
