About the role
Job Summary
DSS (FSO) responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of desktop computers, laptops, and related hardware and software within an organization. The role requires expertise in diagnosing technical issues, implementing solutions, and ensuring optimal workstation performance for end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers, printers, and other peripheral devices.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, providing timely and effective solutions to end users.
- Deploy operating systems, software updates, patches, and security configurations according to company policies.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in line with IT security protocols.
- Document technical procedures, system configurations, and user support activities.
- Assist in hardware and software inventory management.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues and support organizational IT projects.
- Provide remote and on-site support as needed.
- Train end users on software applications and company IT policies.
- Travel to customer sites to install, repair, and maintain equipment, systems, and devices.
- Diagnose technical problems by analyzing equipment performance and conducting tests.
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and ensure optimal operation.
- Provide technical support and training to customers regarding equipment use and best practices.
- Document service visits, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve complex technical issues and escalate when necessary.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and equipment required for field operations.
- Adhere to safety procedures and company policies during field assignments.
Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in desktop support or a similar technical support role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, and remote desktop solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar are a plus.
