Job Summary

PostgreSQL DB Engineer, Support the migration, operation, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases on Google Cloud, enabling reliable and compliant database services for both traditional and cloud‑native workloads. Job Description : PostgreSQL Database Engineer (Google Cloud)\\r\\n Role purpose\\r\\n\\r\\n Support the migration, operation, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases on Google Cloud, enabling reliable and compliant database services for both traditional and cloud‑native workloads.\\r\\n\\r\\n Key responsibilities\\r\\n\\r\\n Migrate PostgreSQL databases from on‑premises platforms to Google Cloud\\r\\n Support PostgreSQL running on VM‑based and/or managed cloud services\\r\\n Perform database upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and optimization\\r\\n Support onboarding of applications to PostgreSQL platforms\\r\\n Troubleshoot incidents and support change and release activities\\r\\n Collaborate with cloud, security, and application stakeholders\\r\\n Maintain documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles\\r\\n Required skills and experience\\r\\n\\r\\n Strong hands‑on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA / Database Engineer\\r\\n Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, performance, and configuration\\r\\n Experience with PostgreSQL on cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud\\r\\n Hands‑on experience with database migrations (on‑prem → cloud)\\r\\n Understanding of replication, backup, recovery, and HA concepts\\r\\n Experience working in enterprise / regulated environments\\r\\n Nice to have\\r\\n\\r\\n Experience with PostgreSQL managed services\\r\\n Automation and scripting experience\\r\\n Familiarity with cloud security and compliance requirements

Key Responsibilities

Migrate PostgreSQL databases from on‑premises platforms to Google Cloud Support PostgreSQL running on VM‑based and/or managed cloud services Perform database upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and optimization Support onboarding of applications to PostgreSQL platforms Troubleshoot incidents and support change and release activities Collaborate with cloud, security, and application stakeholders Maintain documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles

Skill Requirements

Strong hands‑on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA / Database Engineer Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals, performance, and configuration Experience with PostgreSQL on cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Hands‑on experience with database migrations (on‑prem → cloud) Understanding of replication, backup, recovery, and HA concepts Experience working in enterprise / regulated environments Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work in distributed (nearshore/offshore) teams Comfortable working in structured governance and compliance frameworks Hands‑on, delivery‑oriented mindset
