Job Summary

Senior Specialist responsible for administration, L2 support, and ongoing operations of the Solar Winds monitoring environment. The role focuses on maintaining Solar Winds modules, supporting monitoring requirements, resolving platform issues, and working with infrastructure and network teams to ensure effective monitoring coverage in an enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide L2 operational support for Solar Winds monitoring tools. Administer and support Solar Winds modules including NPM, SAM, DPA, NCM, NTM, NAM, and IPAM. Perform Solar Winds configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and patching activities. Configure and manage SAM and DPA templates for application and database monitoring. Monitor platform health, alerts, and performance metrics. Troubleshoot monitoring issues and perform root cause analysis for tool-related incidents. Work with network, server, and application teams to onboard and support monitoring requests. Fine-tune alerts and thresholds to improve monitoring accuracy and stability. Support standard reports, dashboards, and documentation related to monitoring. Participate in shift-based operations and on-call support as per roster.

Skill Requirements

6+ years of experience in infrastructure monitoring tools. 4+ years hands-on experience with Solar Winds NPM, SAM, and DPA. Good understanding of Solar Winds platform components and basic architecture. Working knowledge of network monitoring and network configuration concepts. Good understanding of Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems. Basic working knowledge of SQL databases. Exposure to PowerShell or Python scripting is an added advantage. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Good communication skills for customer and internal team interactions.

Other Requirements

Willingness to work in rotational shifts. Provide on-call support during off-business hours when required. Ability to work in a structured operations environment with defined SLAs.
