Design Lead Mech Design, CAD, Unigraphics

Job Summary

The Design Lead at HCL is responsible for overseeing and managing the design process, with a strong emphasis on Mechanical Design Fundamentals, CAD Design Skills, and Unigraphics NX. The main objective is to lead the design team in creating innovative and efficient mechanical designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and provide design sign-off for Quality Notifications, VMRRs and PRIDS, ensuring compliance with fit, form, and function requirements

• Support manufacturing concessions and engineering change requests

• Review production non-conformances and validate MRB repair dispositions to ensure design integrity

• Provide defect mapping and composite ply stack-ups to support MRB and Stress functions.

• Develop optimized product design by challenging existing design and ideas and by offering innovative ideas.

• Ability to resolve production and in-service design issues

• Ability to support the design activities for sustenance, NPI and value engineering.

• Ability to select suitable standard hardware based on application.

• Self-motivated and keen to get involved in new technologies and projects and learn new skills to map out future career paths.

Skill Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Mechanical structures Design and Development

• Good Knowledge in design principles.

• Should have fair knowledge on material & Fastener selection.

• Knowledge on GD&T and MBD creation.

• Good knowledge on composites

• Awareness of CPD/fibersim workbenches

• Experience with CatiaV5/Enovia, or related CAD similar software is required

• Experience with Team-Center PLM (Product Lifestyle Management) System and SAP.

• Experience with Composites and metallic components/assembly in Design or Manufacturing environment.

• It will be an added advantage if they have experience on Nacelle products & Prior experience on MRB work would be a plus

• Good understanding of manufacturing requirements and able to support manufacturing.

• Experience with MS Systems (Word, Excel and PowerPoint Presentations) is required

Other Requirements

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical engineering or Aerospace or Aeronautics.

• Full time recognized Bachelor of Engineering (4 years) related work experience in similar roles.

• Sound knowledge in mechanical engineering fundamentals.

• Strong decision making and critical thinking.

• Strong ability to understand customer expectations.
