Job Summary
Job Titles: Dangerous Goods Operations & Compliance Specialist
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Dangerous Goods compliance, with a focus on Dangerous Goods Transportation Current certification in IATA DGR (Air) and IMDG (Sea); functional knowledge of 49 CFR and ADR.Demonstrated experience conducting remote DG Compliance audits, and tracking corrective action plans to closure Experience managing DG training records Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet logic (Macros, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)Familiarity using AI tools (Gemini) or scripting to build simple automation agents.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal Google teams and external partners (logistics providers, suppliers).Proven ability to work with a high degree of urgency and meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.Proven ability to develop, document, and standardize complex operational workflows (SOPs).Must be proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Email, Chat, Drive).Strong sense of responsibility and security awareness when handling confidential and high-value materials.Core Responsibilities
Shipment Hold Resolution: Monitor global shipment holds daily; perform root cause analysis (RCA) on non-compliant shipments and facilitate unblocking within 4 hours.Remote Auditing: Conduct remote DG audits of internal & external partners, specifically verifying adherence to SOPs, and tracking Corrective Action Plans (CAPA) to closure.DG Training Administration: Maintain the "Single Source of Truth" for FTE and TVC training records; assign training upon expiry and track completion.SOP Governance: Design, author, and govern Dangerous Goods Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for internal teams and external logistics partners.Packaging Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of DG packaging at distribution centers and trigger re-stocking orders to prevent stock-outs.Compliance Automation: Develop and deploy automated solutions (e.g., macros, scripts, AI Agent) to detect non-compliance (e.g., duplicate image uploads) or improve operational efficiency.Measurable SLAs (Key Performance Indicators)
Shipment Hold Resolution: 98% of high-priority shipment holds are actioned and resolved with a documented Root Cause Analysis (RCA) initiated within 4 business hours.Audit/CAPA Closure: 100% of planned remote audits completed within the fiscal quarter, with 95% of identified Corrective Action Plans (CAPA) closed within 30 days.Inventory: Zero (0) stock-out incidents for DG packaging supplies at GDCs.Automation & Compliance Tooling: Deploy a minimum of one high-value automated compliance check (e.g., duplicate image detection) per quarter to proactively mitigate non-compliance risks and reduce manual effort.SOP Adherence: Maintain a minimum of 98% pass rate on quarterly SOP adherence audits for all managed logistics partners.Required Access to Systems / Tools
